In Memory of the Independence Day Tree

Published by Emperor Karl at 1:16 pm under Around Town

It was still a living tree when I visited Argao on September 2007 but in my last visit yesterday, 29 June 2008, the tree was already dead. What a pity since it contributed to the scenery of the town square. It was historically significant too for the town since it was planted by the town mayor on June 4, 1946 on the very same day that we became an independent country from the United States thus its moniker “The Independence Day Tree.”

Oh well nothing is permanent except change and everything will always have its time, a time to live and a time to die.
